The tow truck accreditation checker allows the currency of tow truck driver and assistant accreditation to be checked.
A tow truck driver accreditation or tow truck assistant accreditation authorises the holder of the accreditation to operate, or assist with the operation of, a tow truck to carry out regulated towing in Queensland.
An assistant, however, is not authorised to drive a tow truck to undertake regulated towing.
In Queensland, it is an offence for a person to operate or drive a tow truck to provide a regulated tow truck service without holding the appropriate accreditation.
It is also an offence for an operator to direct a person to operate or assist with the operation of a tow truck to provide a regulated tow truck service if the person is not appropriately Queensland accredited.
Please note, to be a Queensland accredited tow truck driver, the person must also hold a current driver licence for the relevant class of vehicle / tow truck they are driving.
