Replace driver licence

About this service

This service allows you to replace your Queensland driver licence if it has been lost, stolen, impacted by a data breach, damaged or destroyed.

Note: Replacing your driver licence will not change its expiry date. See renewing a licence for information about extending the term of your driver licence.

Steps to replace your licence online

1. Login

  • Enter your licence details
  • Confirm your identity

2. Check your address

  • Your residential address will appear on your licence (must be in Queensland)
  • We'll mail your new licence to your postal address

We'll check if your licence can be replaced online

If you can replace online, you'll go to step 3.

If you can't replace online, you'll need to contact us (in some cases, you may need to visit a customer service centre).

Reasons why you can't replace online:

  • you have already replaced your licence online within the last 12 months
  • your licence is due for renewal or has already expired — you will need to renew your licence
  • you need to make changes to information on your licence
(For example, you need to change your name or a condition on your licence)

See replacing a licence, if you are unable to use this online service or require more information.

3. Answer questions

  • Tell us why you need to replace your licence
  • Answer questions about your eligibility to replace your licence

Note: You are not eligible to replace your licence if it has been disqualified, cancelled or suspended in Queensland, or any other Australian state or territory.

4. Make payment (if required)

  • If you were the victim of a crime, you are eligible for a free replacement licence.
(your licence was stolen, maliciously damaged or destroyed or impacted by a data breach)
  • If your licence was lost or accidentally damaged or destroyed, a replacement fee applies.
