Replace driver licence

About this service

You may be able to replace your driver licence online if your licence has been lost, stolen (including data breaches) or destroyed.

A fee applies for using this service. See licence fees for more information.

If you have your email address recorded with us, we'll let you know when your licence has been posted.

Reasons why you may be unable to replace your licence

  • you have replaced your licence using this online service within the last 12 months
  • your licence is due for renewal or has already expired — you will need to renew your licence.
  • you need to replace your licence for a reason other than lost, stolen (including data breaches) or destroyed (For example, you need to change your name or a condition on your licence)
  • your licence has been disqualified, cancelled or suspended in Queensland, or any other Australian state or territory
If you believe your licence is faulty, please bring it to a transport and motoring service centre instead of using this service. If it is confirmed to be faulty, your licence will be replaced free of charge.

See replacing a licence, if you are unable to use this online service or require more information.

Note: Replacing your driver licence is not the same as renewing or extending the term of your driver licence. See renewing a licence for more information.
