Renew driver licence

About this service

This service should take 10 to 15 minutes to complete.

You can renew online in the 6 weeks before your licence expires or up to 5 years after it expires.

You cannot renew online if you:

need a new licence photo (photos are valid for 10 years)
need a medical certificate to drive and you haven't given us one
need to renew more than 6 weeks before your licence expires (learner licences can't be renewed early)
need to change your name on your licence
need to add or remove a licence condition (excluding S condition for glasses or contact lenses)
want a licence term longer than what's available for your online renewal
are a member of a foreign consulate in Queensland
no longer live in Queensland (you can renew if you're temporarily living interstate or overseas)
have had your licence suspended, disqualified or cancelled in Queensland or another Australian state or territory.
