Check my demerit points

About this service

This service should take 5 to 10 minutes to complete.

You can use this service to check the number of demerit points currently recorded. You can also see how long demerit points last (the accumulation period), information about each offence, and your driver licence status.

Demerit points are added to your record after:

  • the fine has been paid and processed (for example, BPAY payments can take a few days to reach us)
  • an overdue fine has been sent to the State Penalties Enforcement Registry (SPER)
  • an infringement dispute has been finalised
  • the offence has been dealt with in court.

Demerit points that have been 'dealt with' as part of a good driving behaviour (GDB) or suspension period are not counted in your demerit points total.

You cannot check your demerit points online if:

  • you have never held a Queensland driver licence
  • you have not held a current Queensland licence in the past 5 years
  • your Queensland licence is cancelled
  • your licence has been transferred to another Australian state or territory
  • you have an interstate or overseas licence, even if you have a Queensland CRN
  • you have a GDB sanction or special hardship order (SHO/X3) condition on your Queensland licence.

If you have a GDB sanction or an X3 condition on your licence, log in to your transport account (My account) to see when your GDB or suspension period will end.

If you cannot check your demerit points online, see other ways to check.
