About this service

This service allows you to change your residential and postal addresses recorded with Transport and Main Roads.

In short

You can update your address online if have a Queensland residential address. You can also record a separate postal address, if required.

If you update your residential address, you will be sent an address label (sticker) for each eligible card you hold (for example, your driver licence).

Note: This service only issues labels if you change your residential address.

What you should know

Your addresses are used for communications about Queensland registration and licensing, including infringements.

If you update your residential address, we'll post you an address label for each eligible card you hold.

Address labels are stickers showing the residential address recorded with Transport and Main Roads. The sticker can be placed over a previous address on the back of your card.

Address labels are available for Queensland:

  • driver licences
  • marine licences
  • photo identification cards*
    (formerly adult proof of age cards)
  • industry authority cards
    • driver authorisation
    • dangerous goods driver licence
    • tow truck drivers and assistants
    • traffic controllers
    • driver/rider trainers
    • pilot and escort vehicle drivers
 

*You'll only receive a label for a photo identification card if your address already appears on your card. If your address does not appear on your card, after you've updated your address, you can choose to add your address to your card – a free replacement card, with your address on it, will be sent to you.

Who can use this service

Correct.

You can change your address online if:

  • you are an Individual customer
    (not a Business, Organisation or Trust)
  • you have a Queensland residential address

Don't use this service if:

  • you need to update the address for registrations in the name of a Business, Organisation or Trust

  • your address is correct and you just need a replacement address label

  • you hold a photo identification card and want to update your address preference
    Instead, use the add or remove address on Photo ID card service.

  • your vehicle registration garaging address is different to your residential address
    Instead, please message us or call 13 23 80.

  • your address is not valid, according to Australia Post address standards
    Instead, please message us or call 13 23 80.

  • you need to change your residential address to an interstate or overseas address
    Instead, please message us or call 13 23 80.

    Note: You can only change your residential address to a location outside Queensland if you don't hold any products, unless you qualify under the Defence Driver Licensing Scheme.

  • you need to update the address recorded for a Blue Card or Disability Worker Screening Card (Yellow Card)
    Instead, you need to update the address recorded on a Blue Card or Disability Worker Screening Card (Yellow Card).

How to change your address

Follow the steps to change your address:

Change your address online

Step 1: Log in and accept terms of use

You can log in with:

  • your TMR details—you will need your Queensland driver licence number/customer reference number (CRN)
    or
  • your Queensland Digital Identity (QDI).
 

Step 2: Review your address

  • Check the details currently recorded
  • Choose which address details you need to update
 

Step 3: Enter your updated address details

  • Note: We mail replacement labels to your postal address
 

Step 4: Confirmation

  • We'll email you a confirmation.
  • You can also view the confirmation on this page and download, save or print it, if required.

How long it takes

It should take less than 10 minutes to update change your address online.

Replacement address labels will be sent by regular post and should arrive within 21 days.
