About this service

This service allows you to change certain details for a vehicle registration.

Any changes you make are not immediate
These changes will take effect at the start of the next registration period.

If your registration is due for renewal

Changes you make in this service may affect the amount due for your next renewal payment. After you've made your changes, your updated payment amount will be displayed. If you're paying your registration by BPAY, please pay the new amount instead of the amount shown on your renewal notice.

Correct.

You can use this service to:

  • Change the Compulsory Third Party (CTP) insurer
    • for your own registration
    • on behalf of another person or organisation
  • Change your registration term / period
  • Change your GST Input Tax Credit Entitlement (ITCE) status

Note: You can't change CTP insurer or ITCE status for an expired registration.

You cannot use this service to:

  • Change the names listed on a registration
  • Apply a concession to a registration
  • Update registration details including:
    • purpose of use
    • vehicle information
