Apply for dangerous goods driver licence

This service allows you to apply for a dangerous goods driver licence.

What you need

• a completed medical certificate for motor vehicle drivers issued within the last 6 months; and
• a current dangerous goods driver course certificate issued within the last 6 months: and
• a current open driver licence; or
• a current probationary or restricted driver licence where you have previously held an open driver licence.

Note: if you are eligible for a dangerous goods licence but can't apply online, you may need to have a new licence photo taken. You will need to apply in person instead of using this service.

Assessing the application

Your application may take up to 6 weeks to be assessed as we must conduct background checks such as criminal history and traffic history.

You can sign up for e-reminders to receive an email when your application has been approved.

If you have your email address recorded with us, we'll let you know when your card has been posted.
