Apply for/Amend booked hire service licence

If you provide a booked hire service to customers in a vehicle other than a licensed taxi or limousine, you need a booked hire service licence for your vehicle.

The booked hire service licence is issued for a 12-month term and cannot be transferred to another person or corporation.

This service allows you to:

• apply for a booked hire service licence or
• amend your current booked hire service licence such as change your vehicle registration details, update your contact person details or surrender your licence.

All applicants will need the following documentation to apply online:

• A valid TMR customer reference number (CRN) for each person on the application (up to 10 additional persons can be listed on the application).
• For the vehicle nominated on the licence:
  • current registration in Queensland.
  • current certificate of inspection (COI), unless exempt.
  • change of compulsory third party (CTP) insurance class letter from your insurer, if you need to change your insurance class.
• A completed Form F5190 if you are not the registered operator of the vehicle.
• An email address so you can receive notifications about your application.
• An accepted credit cardto pay the licence fee.

Before applying please consider the following:

• Applications can take up to twenty (20) business days to process.
• If your application is approved, you will receive an email from TMR with your booked hire service licence.
• If your application is refused, you will receive notification from TMR.
• Other drivers may use the vehicle listed on your booked hire service licence to provide ride-booking services, however they must have a current Driver Authorisation and carry a copy of the booked hire service licence for the vehicle.
