  Learner licence holders must have passed the hazard perception test before a driving test booking can be made.
• Learner logbook
  Learner drivers under 25 must submit their logbook and have it approved by us before their driving test. Note: Approvals can take up to 12 working days.

  Upgrading your licence

To upgrade your licence, you must have held your current licence for a minimum period:

• To move from a learner licence to a provisional (P1 or P2) licence, you must hold your learner licence for at least 1 year.
• To move to a higher licence class, the amount of time required depends on the class you hold now and the licence class you're moving to—for example, you must hold a C class licence for 2 years before you can get a HR licence.

This minimum period:

• must be within the past 5 years
• does not include time when your licence was suspended, surrendered, cancelled or expired
• does not have to be continuous—for example, if your licence was suspended, the time before the suspension started and after the suspension ended will both count towards the requirement).

Interstate or overseas licences

If you held an interstate or overseas licence for part or all of your minimum period, please message us or call 13 23 80 before you book your test to confirm your eligibility.

We may need to verify details about your licence history. You may also need to provide proof that your licence allows you to learn to drive a higher vehicle class.
