About this service

Book a driving test

This service allows you to book a practical driving test to be licenced for the following types of vehicles:

  • car (C)
  • light rigid (LR)
  • medium rigid (MR)
  • heavy rigid (HR)
  • heavy combination (HC)
 

Note: You can't use this service to book a motorcycle test (for RE or R classes). Find out how to get a motorcycle licence or upgrade.

You may not be able to book online if the applicant:

  • holds an overseas licence
  • has ever held an interstate learner licence
  • is a returning driver
  • has an approved licence tenure or logbook exemption.

Booking information

  • A booking can only be made for a date when the appropriate licence has been held for the required length of time.
  • Your booking is not confirmed until you have paid and received a booking reference number.
 

Before the test

It's important that both the applicant and the test vehicle are fully prepared:

 

The test may not go ahead and the booking fee may be lost, if:

  • the applicant arrives late or fails to arrive
  • the applicant does not meet all requirements
  • the vehicle does not pass the pre-test inspection on the day.
